Lucky Lucy Ann- Lucky Lucy Ann (CD)

Lucy Ann Polk was one of the most acclaimed Jazz big band vocalists of the early 1950's having won the Downbeat "girl singer" poll two years in a row, in 1951 and 1952, when she sang for Les Brown's band. Make no mistake about it, this is not a Doris Day sound-a-like. Between 1948 and 1954, Les Brown had a top notchBebop band which included Don Fagerquist, Dave Pell, Wes Unsell, and many other Jazz luminaries. Lucy Ann has a very sexy voice that really hits the mark. This album is a classic, featuring charts by Marty Paich, and recorded in Stereo at Radio Recorders in 1957.
